Quickly outgrowing our beautiful but small space at 235 East 49th Street, we were on the lookout for bigger digs.
Luckily, Glenda (CFO) saw a "For Lease" sign down the street for a 1200 square foot basement space. Used as storage by the landlord, it was dusty, dirty and ugly. BUT...it was big, nearby and within our budget. As Symmetry Lithographers owner Larry Ostrin told Ramon, It's "Chelsea." Ramon thought it looked more like "Hell's Kitchen."
Ramon signed a two-year lease and we bought enough tables, chairs, bookshelves and filing cabinets for seven stations, a fridge, a microwave and a big red couch to give the place "character." So much so, that it's already been used in a movie.
The finishing touch was a sign above our basement entrance that forbodingly dares "Enter here all ye who seek adventures in advertising."
